| Sub: Gist of Interim Order dated 23.04.2003
of the Hon'ble West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission
on the tariff petition of DPSC Limited for the year 2003-04. |

Because of the likely delay in finally determining the tariff
for the year 2003-04 for the reasons stated in the order, the
Hon'ble Commission, in exercise of powers conferred upon it,
decided to and passed the aforesaid interim order, upon consideration
of the balance of convenience and inconvenience and to protect
the interest of both the consumers and the utility.

- There
will be an ad-hoc increase of Re. 0.06 (Paise Six) per Kwh
for the year 2003-04 over the rates fixed by the Commission
for the year 2002-03.
- The
above interim order will be applicable from 1.4.2003 from
billing month of April 2003 for all consumers and will be
applicable only on quantum of energy actually consumed by
the consumer.
- The
above interim order is in addition to all existing rates,
charges, rebates, penalty, incentives etc. as presently applicable.
This interim order will not be considered or taken into account
for giving any incentive, rebate, concession, etc. or for
the purpose of levying any penalty/extra charge/rate etc.
except as specifically permitted therein. The interim order
will be taken into account for levying charge on account of
pilferage/theft of power. All the other existing terms and
conditions as presently applicable remain unchanged except
to the extent specifically amended by this order.
- The
interim increase as granted by this order to the utility will
be adjusted, recovered or refunded, as the case may be, against
the final tariff for 2003-04 as may be fixed by the Hon'ble
Commission for the utility and in the stated manner or as
may be decided by the Hon'ble Commission at any time at its
sole discretion.
- The
interim order will be shown separately by the utility in the
bill as such.
- All
other existing terms and conditions shall remain unchanged
except to the extent specifically amended by this order.
- In
case of any discrepancy or dispute, Commission’s order dated
23.4.2003 is final and binding.
This notification has been issued with the approval of the
Hon'ble Commission.
