DPSC Limited
has a licence area of 618 sq. Kms. in the Asansol-Raniganj coal
belt in the state of West Bengal to supply power at 11 kV only.
It has also licence to supply power to minor loads at 3.3 kV
and 550 voltage. DPSC Limited has a well spread out distribution network
to cater to the needs of its consumers.
CONSUMERS DPSC Limited is basically a Distribution Company. It is generating
power to provide survival power requirement of Eastern Coalfields
Limited (ECL) and Bharat Coking Coal Company Ltd., which operate
flood prone and gassy mines. ECL is the single largest consumer
of the Company constituting 60% of the load of the Company followed
by West Bengal State Electricity Board (WBSEB) 25% (at subsidized
rates ) and balance 15 % of the load absorbed by other industries
and by essential services like Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Pumping
Stations, Railways, TV & Radio Stations Etc.
TARIFF & QUALITY OF SUPPLY
The Company's tariff has been low in the State of West Bengal.
The Company has to operate in a competitive environment, therefore
it has to maintain good quality power to its consumers
