DPSCL had the unique distinction and track record of uninterrupted dividend pay out ever since its inception till 2000. Due to less favourable tariff award by the Hon'ble west Bengal Regulatory Commission, the Company has incurred loss and has to stop payment of Dividend till the year 2005.

In the financial year 2005-2006, the Company has made profits and announced divident @10% i.e., Rs. 1/- per share on the equity shares of the Company.

In the financial year 2006-2007, the Company announced divident @7.5% and Final Dividend @5% on the equity shares of the Company.

Remittance of Dividend

Dividend on Equity Shares if recommended by the Board of Directors for a particular year ended at 31^st March, ...... used to be paid:

(i) to those members whose names appear on the Register of Members of the Company, after giving effect to all valid share transfers in physical form lodged with the Company on or before record date or book closure.

(ii) in respect of shares held in electronic form, to those "deemed members" whose names appear in the list of beneficial ownership furnished by National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) and Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) .

(iii) the facility for payment of dividend through ECS since last year was made available by the Company to Members residing in 55 locations by the Company's banker, The AXIX BANK Limited.

UNCLAIMED DIVIDEND

Pursuant to Section 205A of the Companies Act, 1956, unclaimed dividends upto the financial year 2000 have been transferred to the Investor Education and Protection Fund established by the Central Government pursuant to Section 205C of the Companies Act, 1956 and after the transfer to such account, the shareholders shall have no claim against the company or the Government in respect of such unclaimed dividend and the various dates for transfer of such amounts are as under :-
